Request for Grant Proposals 2012-2013 School Year

South Kingstown Education Foundation (SKEF) is now accepting applications for Grant Awards for the 2012-2013 school year!

SKEF grants are awarded annually to parents, teachers, students, and community members to support innovative educational projects in our South Kingstown schools. In June 2010, SKEF awarded over $20,000 in grants; and since SKEF’s inception in 2003, approximately 80 grants have been awarded.

Project Criteria
SKEF Grant Awards typically do not exceed $1,000 per project, and are generally awarded to fund activities outside of the annual school budget. Project should not include expenditures for personal stipends.

Priority shall be given to projects that:
* are innovative and attempt to further excellence in South Kingstown public schools by enhancing the established curriculum goals,
* help to strengthen the relationship between the South Kingstown public schools and the community at large,
* help to widen the horizons of South Kingstown students by incorporating competition with students outside our school system,
* help to support underperforming areas in South Kingstown schools academic performance.

Applications are available at every South Kingstown public school, at the SK School Administration Building, and on the SKEF website (www.skefonline.org).

Applications for the 2012-2013 school year are due Wednesday, March 15, 2012 and should be mailed to:
