SKEF wants to help make your dream project become a reality!
We award grants for special activities, projects and programs that enhance learning in the South Kingstown Public schools. If you are a teacher, parent, or student with a creative idea, check out our grant guidelines to learn more.
Grant Guidelines
We love projects and programs that offer innovative and creative learning opportunities that will awaken students’ minds and increase students’ enthusiasm for learning!
Each application is scored using our rubric. Funding priority is given to innovative projects or programs that are CREATIVE (new and imaginative) and/or EXPERIENTIAL (involve active learning experiences) that attempt to further excellence in South Kingstown public schools and help to strengthen the relationship between the South Kingstown public schools and the community at large. This video highlights how the rubric works.
Given that our awards are typically $1,000 or less per project, we appreciate when applicants outline how additional funding or materials, if needed, will be procured to ensure the project moves forward.
To add clarity, we do not fund:
- Individual computer devices (iPads, tablets, laptops, etc.)
- Food
- Furniture
- Prizes
- Personal stipends
